International trade allows countries to expand their markets and access goods and services that otherwise may not have been available domestically. As a result of international trade, the market is more competitive. This ultimately results in more competitive pricing and brings a cheaper product home to the consumer.

By 2026, emerging economies will account for 45% of trade growth, with 55% in advanced economies. Southeast and South Asia, as well as Sub-Saharan Africa will have the fastest growing trade growth by volume in the next five years.15 Sept 2022.

Trade is an engine of growth that creates better jobs, reduces poverty, and increases economic opportunity. Recent research shows that trade liberalization increases economic growth by an average of 1.0 to 1.5 percentage points, resulting in 10 to 20 percent higher income after a decade.4 Apr 2022.
